"Home" was inspired by two concepts. The first, was a physical thing. What felt like "home" on my instrument? What was comfortable, fun, easy, and came naturally? The second was a conceptual thing - what is "home" to a queer body? What makes the body feel like it's at home with itself? Does "home" take on different meanings within a mixed-race body, an immigrant body, a multi-lingual body? Outside of self, can we find "home" within our families, our chosen families, our communities? This piece is for anyone who has struggled to find “home” for themselves.
